Steve Jobs
(world’s most valuable brand- Forbes)
We’re not going to be the first to this party, but we’re going to be the best.
(Steve Jobs at Apple event for iPhone OS 4.0, April 8, 2010)
There are many influential folks around who have achieved great masterstrokes in their lives but via this article, I am going to elaborate on the positive impact imparted on myself by none other than Steve Jobs.
The innovator, entrepreneur of the century & “Person of the decade” are some of his renowned titles (Wall Street Journal). Steve was the founder of Apple.Inc, NeXt, Pixar and a chief stakeholder of Disney.
Being from the technology stream, I had the honour to share some mutual interests with the esteemed Steve Jobs. I have been studying or consuming content regarding him since years back when I was in school.
The reasons for my likeness are many as he showed great traits in several aspects of life. The very first reason is obviously the common thing which is technology, his love for technology and on top of it, his enchantment towards the accessibility of tech for the entire mankind really strikes me.
The roots of Apple were to build computers for people, not for corporations. The world doesn’t need another Dell or Compaq.(October 18, 1999)
One can literally observe his desire for innovating computers & tech for the welfare of humanity. Steve’s vision of “computer for the rest of us” & Apple being the pioneer in personal computers is the main aim behind my likeness.
Here I also wanted to jot down his vision and core values as a person.
What is Apple, after all? Apple is about people who think “outside the box,” people who want to use computers to help them change the world, to help them create things that make a difference, and not just to get a job done.
I really had a great enchantment towards his visionary mindset. He lived his whole life in the outer orbit, which means the highest level of mindset with full of energy, optimism and innovative ideas.
It would be a huge miss if my keyboard keys don’t strike for his vision of design thought process. Steve has always been a perfectionist who had a great observance over minute details.
Design is not what it looks like, design is how it works!
He always had a greater concern towards computers and their looks, he loves simple user interfaces and strives for the best designs from hardware to software to packaging.
Well, there are many aspects of his life that are worth listing but in order to make this article interesting and without fluff, I am going to conclude it.
I have been taking help from the lessons of his life, however, anyone interested in technology or entrepreneurship will get a bunch of great lessons from his life. Particularly myself, I have flourished in many ways like decision making, leadership, management, communication, technology, marketing etc by taking some key takeaways from his life.
The endnote is we should try our levels best and don’t take anything for granted!
Signing off :)
