Celebrating over a decade of fortifying IT infrastructure, digitization, and automation, I spearheaded the National Education Data and analytics platform at HEDR. Overcoming the challenge of consolidating a decade's worth of dispersed data from various sources, including laptops, websites, and databases, was no small feat. Tasked with leading a team primarily composed of statisticians and Excel users, I harnessed the power of Microsoft's business intelligence platform, Power BI.

Leveraging the wealth of online tutorials, I quickly mastered Power BI and equipped my team. Employing SharePoint Planner and tasks, we meticulously sequenced our activities, utilizing SharePoint as the document repository for data aggregation. Microsoft Power Query played a crucial role in merging and transforming over 1,000 files comprising approximately 600,000 rows. The result: a streamlined process that allowed us to efficiently model, visualize, and publish our findings using the Power BI service. Through the synergy of technology and team spirit, we successfully transformed a decade of statistical data in record time.
